About Insurance Claims
We understand that unexpected repairs on your vehicle might be costly. It is important to contact your auto insurance company and review your coverage. If your deductible is lower than the quoted price for the replacement and ADAS calibration, then you can file a claim. You will only be responsible for the deductible amount when servicing your car at our shop. Some insurance companies fully cover the chip/small crack repairs even if you have a high deductible. In most cases, the auto glass replacement claims do not increase the monthly premiums.
We take all major insurance companies such as Allstate, Geico, Progressive, State Farm, USAA, and others. Please discuss all the details of your coverage with your insurance agent so you are aware of your options. Once you place the claim and mentioned that you will be coming to Speed Auto Glass to your insurance agent, we will get the email regarding your coverage and the claim information. After that, we can start working on your vehicle. Once the repair or replacement is complete, we would ask you to pay your deductible and sign the paperwork to submit to your insurance company. It is a seamless process for you. You only must call your insurance company to file the claim. Everything else is done for you by our shop.
In some cases, you might have to pay out of pocket. For example, if your insurance deductible is higher than the cost of replacing the glass or your insurances does not cover chip repair. Another instance is if you purchased your own glass and want our shop to install it for you. In this case, we cannot file an insurance claim for just labor charge.
Warranty
We thrive on the quality of our materials and craftmanship. Our experienced technicians use high-quality materials to install the glass as well as popular well-known brands of auto glass like Pilkington, PGW and others. We inspect the glass for any scratches or defects before we perform the installation. Unfortunately, we cannot prevent the rock or any other object from hitting your window again. But we do provide a lifetime warranty on workmanship (if you own the vehicle). We transfer all your decals and EZ pass to your new windshield. We clean up the glass and the surrounding areas as much as the glass is visible, but we advise getting professional detailing done especially if you have young children and pets. This usually needs to be done after the door and back glass installation.
After the auto glass installation care
There are a few things you can do to care for your windshield after the installation. Drive slowly over the speed bumps the day of the installation. We will place the tape on top of the windshield that needs to be kept on for 2-3 days. Please do not power wash or go through the car wash for 7 days after the installation. For the back glass replacement, please do not open any windows on the day of installation. For door glass, we ensure that we check the functionality of the automatic doors mechanism before you leave the shop. All these items will let the glass seal properly and eliminate issues in the future. Don’t hesitate to call us and ask any questions after your installation.
